IN MEMORIAM: EMMAFall 1994 - April 12, 2011
Emma, a Maine Coon mix, came to us along with her sister Phoebe at about eight weeks of age. She was always the baby of the family, even to the end. She knew her own name, and she could say her mother's name - she would call "Maaaa! Maaaa!" when she wanted something. She lost her short battle with cancer last evening about 6pm, quietly and peacefully, in her mother's arms.
IN MEMORIAM: TUCKERJune 6, 1998 - August 3, 2010
Tucker, a Great Pyrenees, belonged to our good friends Linda and Dan. We always looked forward to seeing him, and our Shadow loved to visit with him when they met while on their walks. Linda says:
Tucker touched many lives and all who knew him, loved him. He is my "forever dog." Tucker has taught us:
- Be frisky
- Smile
- Take many walks
- Love family
- Breakfast is the most important meal
- "What's-mine-is-mine!"
- Belly rubs are therapeutic
IN MEMORIAM: SHADOW1997(?) - March 30, 2010
Jackson's best buddy, the gentlest soul we ever knew, has gone to join his brother at last. By the end, his chronic, pervasive arthritis combined with respiratory issues had left him barely able to walk, despite the battery of medications he was on throughout his last year. We like to think that he's running and playing again now with Jack, like they did so often in the past. We love you, Shad.
August 2009: Welcome to the Newest Member of Our FamilyMAXIMUS (a.k.a. George)
Max is a five-year old Swedish Vallhund ("shepherd dog"). He came by way of our good friends Ann & Bobby (who also happen to be our veterinarians). He's a good little boy, sweet as can be, but he needs to learn to be a house dog - a house with other animals in it - so now his training begins.
IN MEMORIAM: JACKSON1998 - December 16, 2008
Last fall we lost the inspiration and namesake for this website to cancer. Of all the dogs that we have loved, Jack was unique in our experience. His loss has had a more profound effect on us than we were prepared for. We think about you every day, sweet boy - we will always love you, and you will live forever in our minds and hearts.
